Lettre de candidature

Jeune Diplômé (BAC+5) en Biologie et Biochimie, parlant couramment l'anglais et un peu l'allemand

June 30th 2014

To whom it may concern,
I am a former master student from the University of
Strasbourg (France). I just finished my cursus and graduated in Biology and
Molecular Genetics. My Bachelor and Master degrees allowed me to build strong
knowledge in these fields (mainly Genetic, Molecular Genetics, Immunology and
Cell Biology).

I had two
internships in the past two years in other laboratories in France, the longest
and most recent being a 9 months internship (as part of my master cursus) in
Strasbourg, in the Laboratory of Sylvie Friant ''Intracellular pathways and
lipids signaling'' (UMR 7156 GMGM Molecular Genetics, Genomics, Microbiology).
The aim of my project was to analyze cellular adaptations required for
effective “allotopic” expression of a yeast mitochondrial gene (ATP9).
These different internships allowed me to build consistent knowledge in
genetic, cell biology, immunology, microbiology (mainly yeast), biochemistry
and biochemical techniques. Furthermore I found huge interest in mitochondria
(transport, metabolism, functions) by working with specialists in this field.

Additionally I've already studied abroad during the
last year (2011-2012) of my Bachelor in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology
(2009-2012). More precisely, I attended courses in the University of Leeds
(UK). During this time I had as well an internship in the team of Professor
Emanuele Paci, working in silico on the behavior of antibacterial peptides
across a lipid bilayer. This helped me to build a basic knowledge in
bioinformatics (CHARMM, GROMACS, python).
Finally I managed to
build great relationships with the different teams, being able to analyze and
debate the different results of my experiments.
